Death by Dive Bar is a growing collection of love letters from brilliant writers to their favorite dive bar. We seek out working writers who love whiskey, send them to their favorite cheap-ass watering hole, then instruct them to get drunk and write.
Dive bars are one of the canonical features that make up the worn-out, dead-tired, up-all-night beating heart of America.
We know the people who love whiskey, bourbon, and rye also love Faulkner, Parker, and Percy. Our site has a literary kink, and we sometimes write it while shoved up against the rail in a place that opens every morning at nine.
