Elderflower Sour
How the hell did you come up with this drink?
I was tasked with making a whiskey drink that fits the summer and I realized our triple cask is a very present bourbon. It’s not one you can sort of slip into any cocktail. That’s not how triple cask works. It has its own personality. So I thought “What is triple cask in the sunshine?” It actually pairs well with floral notes—which not all whiskies do. This drink is refreshing and delicious and I love it.
Cocktail: Elderflower Sour
Ingredients
1.5 oz Milam & Greene Triple Cask Bourbon
.75 oz Elderflower syrup (I prefer the Monin brand personally)
.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
4-6 oz (to preference) Sparkling Water
Lemon wheel garnish
Method
Combine bourbon, syrup, and lemon juice in a shaker tin with ice
Shake for at least fifteen seconds
Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass and top with sparkling water.
Garnish with lemon wheel and enjoy!
